Binder

If you ask her what object she treasures the most, she will not mention her gold ring or jewelries. Nor will she mention her house or car. It is a most simple object, a small binder that has been stuffed with too much paper.

If you ask him if it's true, he'll probably just burst out laughing and nod. Ask her then why it is such an important object, and she will tell you a story.

The first time they met was when he bumped into her in a hallway and the binder fell onto the floor. She was a health fanatic and he was an aspiring doctor. Her notes on health benefits of various food and activities had piqued his interest and they spent a lot of time discussing it.

The first time he asked her out, she was reviewing her notes, considering what to eat for a week. He ended up having to change his plans to eat at a seafood restaurant to suit her plans, but it was more amusing than annoying to him.

The first day of marriage planning, they even considered having a big race in the morning to promote physical activity and make sure no one gains weight because of the reception. The menu was also tailored to suit the nutritional needs of young adults and adults alike. The guests simply said they are very--bordering on too--health conscious.

The first time she got pregnant, she consulted her book again to ensure her pregnancy was without a hitch and that her baby would be born strong and healthy.

To her, the book is the most important thing, more than any gold or treasure, because it gave her a great husband and a devoted child.

To him, it is a very important thing because it shaped their lives into the way it is now.
